Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Early Bird Bus Passes on sale now

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Bus passes for the 2010/2011 school year are now on sale and early bird savings will be in effect until Aug. 31. Rates will remain the same as last year.Instead of submitting applications in person andamp;#8211; and perhaps waiting in lengthy lines andamp;#8211; parents may mail or fax their childandamp;#8217;s application with payment. In addition, pictures will be updated every other year, so if a student had a bus pass last year, there is no need to submit or take a new photo. Only those who didnandamp;#8217;t take a school photo last year will need to submit a picture or come in person to take a photo. Students requiring a free/reduced bus pass, however, will need to apply in person (see below for schedule). TTUSD Transportation personnel request that individuals arrive with their applications completed; applications may be downloaded on the districtandamp;#8217;s website at http://www.ttusd.org/transportation.In order to ride the school bus to and from school all students andamp;#8211; pre-kindergarten through 12th grade andamp;#8211; must purchase a pass. All students riding the bus must have an application on file and a valid bus pass in their possession. Upon distribution of transportation passes all students must show/scan their pass when boarding the bus in the morning, midday and afternoon. All passes must be purchased in advance and bus drivers will accept no cash. No students will be denied transportation at any bus stop in the morning unless they have lost their transportation privileges. Families must pay for all students at one time.Purchase By Fax/Mail/PayPal: To purchase pass by mail, send the application (downloadable at http://www.ttusd.org/transportation) and fee to TTUSD, Transportation Maintenance andamp; Operations (TMO), 12485 Joerger Dr., Truckee, CA 96161. Alternatively, parents may pay online using PayPal (see link on left side of transportation web page). Note: New students to the district or students who did not take a school photo last year will be required to have their photo taken before distribution and will need to go to one of the schools to get their photos taken and receive their passes (see dates and locations below). TTUSD requests that you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your application.Purchase At School Sites: Transportation staff has been processing passes at individual school sites in the past weeks. They will be at the following schools to process bus pass applications and take student photos, regardless of which school the student will be attending: Alder Creek Middle School Cougar Day, Aug. 18, 10 a.m. – noon and Aug. 19, 3 – 5 p.m. and Truckee High School Wolverine Day, Aug. 18, 1 – 5 p.m. and Aug. 19, 8 – 11 a.m.Purchase at Transportation Office: Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. after Aug. 26.Free and Discounted Passes: For a free or reduced pass, a family must be verified through the Food Service Department.
