Tahoe weather: More snow falls on Lake Tahoe

Jean Eick/Sierra SunThe Tahoe Meadows was a picture perfect scene Saturday afternoon with light snow falling and lots of snow on trees and in the forest for cross-country skiers and snowshoers.

Winter weather will reappear with a 90 percent chance of snow to start the work week Monday. Total accumulation during the day will be 1 to 3 inches with a high of 32 degrees. Winds will be out of the south around 10 mph with much stronger winds over the ridges. Be sure to check ahead for chain controls and road conditions before heading over the passes today.

Snow will continue through the evening with a 90 percent chance and ending later. Tonight’s low will be 26 with south southwest winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour. Total accumulation tonight is from 2 to 4 inches.

The rest of the week will bring a possibility of snow showers on Wednesday, partly cloudy skies will return Thursday and Friday and a chance of snow return Friday and Saturday.
