Tahoe weather: More snow in forecast later this week

LAKE TAHOE ” More snow is in the forecast late this week for the Lake Tahoe Basin, following an early week that could feature high temperatures reaching 60 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, a high temperature of about 55 degrees, with sunny skies, is forecast for Monday for the basin. On Tuesday, the high is expected to reach about 60 degrees.

However, snow is in the forecast for Thursday, with a chance of snow during the day and snow showers likely Thursday night. There also are chances of snow for Friday and Saturday.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 55. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 29. South wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60. South wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 31. South wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. South wind around 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Thursday: A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Thursday Night: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 29.

Friday: A chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 38.

Friday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.

Saturday: A slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.
