Tahoe weather: More snow on the way

LAKE TAHOE ” A winter storm that moved into the Lake Tahoe Basin Sunday could bring large snowfall totals Tuesday and Wednesday.

While most low elevations saw snow on Sunday and Monday, snow levels are expected to fall to 5,000 to 6,000 feet by Monday afternoon.

“Higher elevations of the Northern Sierra may see up o 2 feet of snow with a few inches expected at lower elevations, including the shores of Lake Tahoe,” the weather service reports.

Furthermore, an even larger snowstorm is expected to affect Tahoe late Tueaday and Wednesday.

“It is still too early to know the track that this second snowstorm will take,” the weather service reports.
