Tahoe weather: Partly cloudy and warmer this weekend

Low pressure aloft continues to weaken over Northern California with a warmer and more stable air mass developing over the Lake Tahoe area this weekend. Highs today are forecast to reach the lower to mid 60s at lake level with light southwest winds 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Look for sunny skies in the morning hours becoming partly cloudy by afternoon as daytime heating trigger cumulus clouds with the lingering low level moisture from the past week of showers. Lows tonight are expected to drop into the mid 30s at lake level with patchy morning fog possible in the Truckee area.

Little change in the overall weather pattern is expected for Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny mornings turning partly cloudy in the afternoons. Daytime temperatures will continue to climb into the mid 60s each day with overnight lows in the mid 30s. These temperatures readings are very close to the seasonal normals for late May.
