Tahoe weather: Rain and snow showers today through weekend

LAKE TAHOE ” The weather pattern for the Lake Tahoe Basin calls for rain with snow between 7,500 to 8,000 feet Thursday, with snow levels lowering to 7,000 feet by Thursday night and 6,500 feet by Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

Scattered rain showers are expected today with a 70 percent chain likely tonight. On Thursday, rain showers are likely in the morning, with rain possibly turning to snow by Thursday evening.

Friday’s forecast calls cloudy conditions with a chance of snow and light winds. The snow level may lower to 6,500 feet. The weekend calls for colder weather and additional snow.
