Tahoe weather: Warmer on Thursday, weekend unsettled

A weak high pressure system will bring mostly sunny skies and light winds to the Tahoe area today. Highs are expected to rebound about 10 degrees from Wednesday with readings in the mid 50s around the lake by afternoon. Lows tonight are forecast to drop into the mid 20s under mostly clear skies.

A series of weak upper level disturbances are forecast to track in from the eastern Pacific beginning Friday. The first weak upper level trough will bring increasing clouds along with southwest winds 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Highs Friday are projected to reach the mid to upper 50s or near the seasonal normal for this time of year.

Another upper low will bring more moisture and instability by Saturday for a chance of showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon. Stay tuned to see how this unsettled weather pattern will affect your weekend activities.
