Tahoe Yoga and Wellness Center to hold moonlight celebration

Tahoe Yoga and Wellness Center celebrates 10-year anniversary
TRUCKEE, Calif. — On Monday, June 24, Tahoe Yoga and Wellness Center will kick off the summer season by celebrating their 10-year anniversary under the light of the full moon. The celebration will coincide with the conclusion of the studio’s seasonal cleanse, a comprehensive 30-day holistic cleanse that incorporates yoga and ayurveda.
Founded in 2003 by Dr. Walter Lightner, TYWC is a long-running yoga studio in the greater Truckee area. They have an outstanding team of local teachers, many who have decades of yoga experience. Several have been with the studio since it’s doors first opened, including Bill Folkmann, Shari Beard, Christa Cullen and Emily Weer.
In addition to offering complete and diverse schedule and styles of yoga, TYWC services include integrated healing practices such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy, meditation and ayurveda. Luck Keaveny is TYWC’s leading massage therapist and brings her healing touch from Thailand. Be sure to call well in advance to schedule with her, as she books full most days.
“We are extremely grateful to our local community for the love and support they have shared with us for the past decade,” said Dr. Lightner, who’s unique chiropractic style combines shiatsu-style acupressure and deep body work. “It’s an exciting time to be involved in practices that support a growing trend in health care and an evolution of human consciousness. More and more, people are realizing the benefits of preventative medicine and the powerful role they can play in their own wellness. Tahoe Yoga and Wellness Center is committed in continuing to develop to meet those interests.”
There’s a lot going on at TYWC, including an intensive workshop with YogaWorks Teacher Trainer Lakshmi (Angie) Norwood and a concert presented by Wah! and Dr. Paul Romanoff. TYWC will also host a 200-hour YogaWorks Teacher Training this fall, beginning Sept. 20. The trainings will be held one weekend a month, until March 9, 2014.
