Take a Pilates class: Support Susan G. Komen for the cure

As a fitness instructor for 27 years, I currently teach Jazzercise and have recently worked with seniors through Tahoe Forest Hospital. Four years ago, I was certified to teach Pilates through PhysicalMind Institute in Oakland, Calif., and taught in Truckee for two and a half years. I look forward to sharing my expertise with community.

This month, PhysicalMind in Emeryville is recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the Bay Area, so I thought it would be a good idea to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure here. Since I have two friends who are breast cancer survivors and I am currently starting new classes in Kings Beach at the North Tahoe Conference Center, I thought it would be a win-win opportunity. As Pilates supports good health, the benefit seemed like a good way to introduce the classes while supporting a good cause. I am asking for a $10 donation ” 100 percent goes to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The first benefit class is Wednesday, Oct. 22. at 10:30 a.m. at the North Tahoe Convention Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd., Kings Beach. Monday, Oct. 27 at 6:15 p.m. will be the second benefit class. Please bring a mat for the class. The hour long class will enhance over-all well being, ways of movement, strength, flexibility, posture and balance. It is appropriate for any age or fitness level.

Please bring a mat. Call 582-8852 for further information.
