Sierra Sun staff reports

Three teens were arrested on suspicion of burglary and vandalism in Truckee Saturday after they allegedly broke into Glenshire Elementary School.

The names of the teens ” two were age 16 and one was 17 ” were withheld because of their ages.

At 3:24 p.m., Truckee police officers responded to an alarm at Glenshire Elementary. The first officer on the scene saw one suspect on the roof. The second officer on the scene found a second teen on the east side of the school, according to police reports.

With the help of Truckee fire personnel, officers got onto the roof of the school where they detained another teen. Once on the roof officers found an open hatch that led into the school where they found a broken light. The school was clear and

no one was found inside, according to police reports.

Items allegedly stolen from the school, including a tent and some bungee cords, were found at the base of a tree. A third teen was found at the top of the tree, according to police.
