Three Truckee men arrested on felony burglary charges

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; A trio of local men who police say stole several pairs of skis, snowboards and bottles of alcohol were arrested at their home Wednesday on suspicion of felony burglary.

According to a Thursday press release from the Truckee Police Department, Benjamin Feathers, 22, John Schilder, 20, Nicholas Carlozzi, 19 and#8212; all of Truckee and#8212; were booked Wednesday into Nevada County Jail in Truckee without incident.

According to police, an March 24, a second-home owner reported his vacation residence in the Armstrong Tract subdivision of Truckee had been burglarized sometime in the past few weeks.

Police determined entry to the residence had been made via an unlocked door that had been overlooked by the homeowner on his last visit.

and#8220;The house had been ransacked for valuables, and several pairs of skis, snowboards, and distinctive/rare alcohol was stolen,and#8221; the press release reads.

The officer on scene checked the surrounding area and noticed a pair of the reported stolen skis at a house near the victim’s residence; further investigation turned up additional stolen items around the neighboring residence.

Police served a search warrant Wednesday, when Feathers, Schilder and Carlozzi were all home; additional items were located both inside and outside the residence.
