Today’s weather: Cooler with brisk north winds today and Thursday
Sun news service
Much cooler temperatures and partly cloudy skies are on tap today in the wake of yesterday’s cold front. Highs are forecast to drop around 15 degrees today with readings in the mid 50s along with brisk north winds around 10 to 20 mph.
Lows tonight are expected to drop below freezing in most areas with minimums in the upper 20s to lower 30s around the lake.
Cool temperatures will continue into Thursday with highs projected to reach the lower to mid 50s under partly cloudy skies and brisk northeast winds 10 to 20 mph.
A large upper low pressure system is forecast to develop and persist over Northern California and the Great Basin through the coming weekend for more cool and unsettled weather.
Instability associated with this low pressure system will allow for a chance of diurnal showers to develop triggered by daytime heating.
