Today’s weather: Sunny, mild days and clear cold nights through Saturday
February 8, 2008
A strong upper level ridge of high pressure is forecast to remain along the west coast through Saturday. This pressure pattern will result in mostly sunny skies, light winds and above normal daytime temperatures in the Sierra.
Highs today and Saturday are expected to reach the mid to upper 40s around the lake and in the upper 30s to lower 40s at the 8,000 foot resort level. Lows tonight will be on the cool side under clear skies with readings in the teens at lake level and some patchy valley fog developing in the early morning hours.
Look for increasing clouds and ridge top winds on Sunday as a weak frontal system brushes by to the north. Otherwise little change in temperatures are forecast on Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 40s or about 5 degrees above normal.
