Town considers E. River St. subdivision plan

The Town of Truckee’s Community Development Department is currently considering a proposal for the creation of 15 residential parcels on property fronting East River Street.

“This tentative map application proposes the creation of 15 residential parcels from an existing 3.262-acre parcel, ranging in size from 4,443 to 23,420 square feet,” the planning division noted in a report.

The subdivision proposes the creation of 15 building sites oriented toward East River Street, with approximately 58 percent of the total existing parcel reserved as deeded open space for the Truckee River Corridor.

“The project is necessarily (by zoning standard) to be developed as a planned development, entailing the development of architectural and site development standards, and open space/river corridor maintenance and enhancement program and a landscaping plan,” the report stated.

A mitigated negative declaration is currently being prepared by planning staff.

The deadline for comments from other public agencies on the project is Aug. 15, 1999.
