Town Council meeting tonight tackles Hippie Hill

The Truckee Town Council meets tonight with several land use issues on their agenda.

The Council will discuss and possibly authorize a contract with LSA Associates, Inc. for preparation of an environmental impact report for the Hippie Hill Specific Plan.

Developers of Hippie Hill, located north off West River Street and just east of Highway 89 South, are proposing a hotel and spa with up to 250 rooms, 39,000 square feet of commercial office space and between 300 to 800 dwelling units on the 70+ acre site.

Council with also discuss a proposal to authorize the town manager to proceed to bid for a consultant that will help the town identify and rank potential sites for a future Town Hall.

Truckee Mayor Don McCormack is also expected to proclaim Sept. 24-30 as the Truckee International Wheelchair Tennis Week.
