Town of Truckee launches Truckee Litter Corps

The Town of Truckee has launched a new litter abatement initiative, called Truckee Litter Corps. This all-volunteer citizen driven program will help remove litter from roadways, trails, and public gathering places.

“I’m extremely excited about the Truckee Litter Corps and the importance of this initiative aimed at helping to Keep Truckee Green and clean,” said Truckee Mayor David Tirman. “TLC will be the perfect monthly complement to our annual Truckee Day town-wide clean-up. It is in our collective best interest as a town to keep our streets and roadways cleared of litter for the health of our environment and for our residents and visitors alike.”

The inaugural TLC Cleanup will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. On the first Saturday of each month, volunteers will gather at Truckee Town Hall to pick up supplies, including a TLC volunteer T-shirt, before collecting litter at assigned locations.
