Town workshop on growth Tuesday

The Truckee Town Council is hosting a workshop on growth and development issues affecting the community Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chambers.

This workshop was previously scheduled for Sept. 11 but was postponed. This is the fourth in a series of workshops covering issues of importance to Truckee.

The workshop will include a detailed update of the development summary presented last winter along with comparisons of Truckee General Plan growth projections and actual development.

An analysis of the amount of residential, commercial and industrial development proposed by applications under review compared to long-term projections will also be provided.

In addition, relevant information and recommendations from the recently completed Economic Strategy plan will be presented. Finally, the effectiveness of the public participation efforts required for major development will be discussed.

In addition to the formal discussion, plans for many of the larger projects under town review will be displayed along with information regarding project status and opportunities for public involvement.

For further information about the workshop, contact the Truckee Community Development Department at 582-7820.
