Traffic count set for Tahoe Basin

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will conduct travel surveys with visitors and residents at 19 commercial and 23 recreational locations throughout the Basin starting Feb. 22.

The interviewing will be conducted by a professional survey research company, and will run through Saturday, March 1.

Surveyors will wear badges while patrolling survey sites. Results from the survey will be used to track and plan for travel options around Lake Tahoe. The short written survey will be used solely for the transportation planning process.

The agency plans to adopt a new regional transportation plan next year.

Input will assist in shaping transportation solutions throughout Lake Tahoe, said Nick Haven, transportation team leader for the agency.
