Dozens of runners will hit the trail this weekend during a run that boasts some of the best scenery Lake Tahoe has to offer.

The Emerald Trail Bay Run is a 7.5-mile run that starts at Eagle Point, on the east side of Emerald Bay, before circling the spectacular bay to Rubicon Trail and to D.L. Bliss State Park before finishing at Lester Beach on the West Shore.

On-site registration for the run takes place starting at 7 a.m. at Eagle Point Campground, with the race starting at 9 a.m. The first finisher is expected at Lester Beach about 9:45 a.m. with post-event festivities starting at 11 a.m., and the event wrapping at 2 p.m.

The event is part of the Tahoe Trail Running Series, nine events that take place throughout the warmer months at Lake Tahoe and cater to a variety of ability levels.
