Tree disposal days next week
Tahoe Truckee Sierra Disposal Company residential customers who wish to participate in the Christmas Tree Recycle Program may discard their trees on their regular service day at no charge during the week of Jan. 8-12.
Customers must make every effort to make their tree evident to the route driver: keep the tree free from snow cover and place it so as not to be mistaken for a living tree.
Trees must not contain any foreign matter (tinsel, stands, lights, nails and ornaments) and trees must be cut into three-foot lengths to facilitate collection. “Flocked” and artificial trees are not recyclable and therefore unacceptable.
For more details, call the Tahoe Truckee Sierra Disposal Company at 583-0148.
