Troup 267 | Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree …

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, with the Truckee Boy Scout Troop 267 cutting and hauling fresh trees for sale, beginning Nov. 28.

Fresh, locally-cut Christmas trees harvested by Truckee Boy Scout Troop 267 will be available for sale this season at the Scout’s Christmas tree lot. The lot is located adjacent to Mountain Hardware at 11320 Donner Pass Road and will be open daily Nov. 28 through Dec. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Handmade wreaths, decorated by the Scouts, will also be available.

The Boy Scouts and their parents harvested the trees last weekend, setting a new Troop record by completing the job of cutting, hauling and loading the trees on to trucks and trailers before noon.

This is the sole fundraiser for the Boy Scout Troop and proceeds will enable the boys to plan community service projects, camping and adventure trips, travel to summer Boy Scout camp and participate in Merit Badge programs.

Boy Scouts of America provides 11-17 year old boys with a program that offers character-building leadership, citizenship, personal fitness and outdoor skills training. Truckee Troop 267 meets at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Truckee Vet’s Hall.
