Truckee artist Carole Sesko is holding her annual Open Studio/Holiday Show and Sale on Dec. 21-22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vibrant contemporary paintings in acrylic and mixed media will be featured, according to a press release, along with functional art suitable for gift giving, such as sculptural bowls, whimsical boxes, art jewelry, bolo ties, hammers and more.

A graduate of the University of California Davis, Sesko paints with acrylics applied to canvas, wood, paper and metal. Her artworks are all original and have a luminous quality, created by layering metallic paints with washes of solid color.

“Carole’s artistic process is driven by her fascination with color, form and texture,” according to the release. “She often mixes found objects with new materials to create a new context.”

Carole Sesko’s Art Studio is located in a renovated 1907 Folk Victorian Cottage at 10326 High St. in downtown Truckee. Contact Carole at 530-587-7750, or visit
