Truckee development: Pollard Station senior center in front of town planners Wednesday

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; On Wednesday, starting at 5 p.m. at 10183 Truckee Airport Road, the Truckee Planning Commission will review the proposed Pollard Station Senior Living Project.

The project, which would create a new senior living center in the Hilltop area above downtown, has run into some resistance in part because of its size and scope and#8212; with a 112,000-square-foot lodge proposed.

The new proposal lops off the third floor, bringing the size down to 85,000 square feet, according to staff reports.

Furthermore, the planning commission will consider a possible development code update allowing backyard chickens on residential lots meeting certain criteria.
