Truckee football edges Winters by a touchdown

The Truckee High football team improved to 3-1 with a 6-0 non-league win at Winters (Calif.) on Friday.

The only score of the game came on a 17-yard touchdown run in the second quarter by senior quarterback Keven Sahlberg, who finished with 47 yards on six rushes while connecting on two-of-five passes for 21 yards and one interception.

Truckee senior Tucker Ballister also played quarterback, going two-for-seven with 11 yards and no interceptions. Ballister rushed four times for 37 yards.

Junior Justin Vosburgh gained 36 yards on 10 carries, while Robert Raber had 30 yards on eight touches and Ryan Macken 17 yards on five carries.

Ryan Roberts hauled in Truckee’s longest reception at 15 yards.

The Wolverines host Lowry on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
