Truckee girls basketball team advances to state; North Tahoe girls, Truckee boys eliminated
The Truckee High girls basketball team will enter the 3A state championship tournament as the No. 2 seed from the North after losing to Lowry, 31-26, in the regional final Saturday in Elko.
Truckee ” which defeated Spring Creek 44-42 in the opening round Thursday and beat Dayton 48-27 in the semifinal Friday ” will face the No. 1 seed from the South at Lawlor Events Center on Friday at 11 a.m.
The North Tahoe girls and Truckee boys did not fare as well.
The Lakers lost 52-11 to Pershing County (Lovelock) in their Northern 2A regional tournament opener and will not advance to the 2A state championship.
After starting the Northern 3A regional tournament with a 65-59 win over Yerington, Truckee’s boys were eliminated from the postseason with a 62-44 loss to Incline on Friday and a 70-61 loss to Dayton on Saturday.

Town approves snow removal pilot program
