A Truckee man was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at another man in what police called an apparent act of road rage, Truckee Police reported Monday.

Jorge Luis Soto, 20, was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a weapon during a road-rage incident, carrying a concealed weapon and driving under the influence.

According to a police news release, the episode began Thursday afternoon when Soto allegedly pulled his car up next to the victim’s on the Truckee Bypass, waved a gun and continued to pursue the man into the Village Green Mobile Home Park on Brockway Road.

Soto is alleged to have again pointed the gun at the victim during a subsequent confrontation at the mobile home park, according to the news release.

“The two are known to each other and have had arguments in the past,” Truckee Police Sgt. Dan Johnston said Tuesday in a phone interview.

Truckee Police and California Highway Patrol officers located Soto inside one of the mobile homes and arrested him without further incident.

Soto’s bail was set at $25,000 and he has not been released due to an immigration hold, Johnston said.
