Tahoe Donner resident Kenneth L. Pierce, 46, was arrested Wednesday by FBI agents for allegedly receiving and distributing child pornography across state lines using the Internet.

For several months, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and FBI officials conducted a joint investigation on Pierce after NCSO officers were contacted by another law enforcement agency indicating Pierce made contact over his computer requesting explicit photographs, according to NCSO Capt. Gary Jacobson.

Pierce was arrested at his home, on Stockholm Way in Tahoe Donner, Wednesday morning.

He faces federal charges for his arrest.

Pierce was transported to the Sacramento County Jail by FBI officials immediately following his arrest.

The sheriff’s office was contacted in early December regarding Pierce’s alleged activities.

NCSO contacted the FBI when they determined the activity was being conducted across state lines, Jacobson said.

A search warrant was executed, and FBI agents seized Pierce’s computers.

When the computers were analyzed, an arrest warrant was issued.
