TRUCKEE, Calif. – The Truckee Optimist Club is excited to invite adults 21+ to its 16th annual Brewfest on Saturday, August 5 from 1-5 p.m., held on the lawn and under the trees in Truckee Regional Park.
The 2023 Truckee Brewfest will feature award-winning craft breweries and homebrewers, live music by “Down the Rabbit Hole” (with Sonida Sueno opening), festival BBQ food (including brats, burgers, hot dogs and hot pretzels), and a Silent Auction. “Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for People’s Choice awards for your favorite craft brew and your favorite homebrew in each of three categories: Malty, Hoppy, and Other,” said Todd Wold, co-chair of the event.

Fifty Fifty Brewing Company is the major sponsor. Additional craft brewers include Alibi Ale Works, Truckee Brewing, Donner Creek, Boochcraft, Long Drink, Schussboom, Ribald, Pigeon Head, Tahoe National, Northspur, and Bear Belly.
Several homebrewers will be representing their homebrew clubs including 395 Homebrewers, Washoe Zephyr Zymurgists, Nevada County Homebrewers, Placer Ultimate Brewing Society, and Omnibus Brew Club.
All attendees must be 21+. No strollers, backpacks or dogs will be allowed. ID’s will be required for all persons upon entrance. Digital tickets can also be purchased at TruckeeBrewfest.com or Eventbrite for a small service charge. If tickets remain on the day of the event, they will be $50 at the door. We expect them to sell out quickly, though.
Admission includes a commemorative tasting glass for unlimited (yet responsible) tastes.
The Truckee Optimist Club is a non-profit organization of men and women that fundraises and donates approximately $100,000 annually to Truckee youth programs and scholarships. The Club holds several major fundraisers each year to raise monies to support Truckee youth educational programs, sports, music, drama, the arts, field trips, scouts, sponsorships, and environmental programs. They also award both educational and vocational scholarships each year to graduating Seniors. The club’s major annual fundraisers are the Brewfest, the Truckee Tahoe
Airshow and Family Festival and the Optimist Christmas Tree lot (near Village Pizzaria).
“We were pleased to have recently granted $35,000 in scholarships to eleven very worthy Truckee youth in June,” said Jim Conlin, Optimist Club President.
In June the Truckee Optimist Club was awarded the “Truckee Day Hall of Fame Award for 2023” presented by Mayor Lindsay Romack from the Town of Truckee honoring twenty years of support by the Truckee Optimist Club at the annual Truckee Clean Up Day.
“With our community growing so quickly, we are looking for new members to help us with our fundraisers and to create more events and ways to raise additional monies to meet the increased demands to support more kids and more programs,” said Barbara Wong, co-chair of membership and Brewfest. Whether you have been in Truckee all your life, or have just moved here, membership in the Truckee Optimist Club may be a perfect fit for you.
