Truckee Police: 145 pounds of prescription drugs collected

TRUCKEE, Calif. — On Saturday, April 27, the Truckee Police Department and Tahoe-Truckee Future Without Drug Dependence hosted a National Rx Take-Back Event.

TPD took in approximately 145 pounds of prescription and over-the-counter medications, according to a press release. In addition, those who took advantage of this event were asked to participate in a quick survey, the data from which will help event organizers better the program for future use.

“The Truckee Police Department would like to personally thank those town of Truckee citizens who participated in this event,” officials said. “The overall mission of this event is to prevent prescription medication abuse and water source sustainability. Through a partnership with our community and commitment to participate in events such as these, we are certain to achieve success.”
