Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for Dec. 17-30, along with previously unreported incidents.

December 17



• Known suspect took property from several mailboxes in the Glenshire subdivision.

• Two students were cited and released for possession of tobacco on Alder Drive.



• An unknown suspect entered a classroom through an unlocked window on Dorchester Drive.

• Suspect entered commercial building on Glenshire Drive and removed property. The suspect was identified and arrested.

• Officers responded to a theft call on Royal Way. The reporting party reported an unknown person went inside her unlocked trailer and took items.

December 18

• Officers took a report of suspicious animal organs on the reporting party’s porch on Glenshire Drive. It was later found out a neighbor had left them for the dogs.

December 19

• An unknown suspect hit a fire hydrant damaging it and leaving it unreported.

• Officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision with minor injuries on Donner Pass Road. The pedestrian declined medical attention. Report was taken.

• Officers responded to a report of a stolen nail gun on West River Street.

• A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with expired registration. An investigation determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and in violation of his probation. The driver was subsequently arrested and booked into Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in Truckee.

December 20

• A protected party in a restraining order believes that the restrained party is trying to contact her via family members. Report was forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

• A subject was contacted for a theft report on Donner Pass Road and was arrested for public intoxication. The items the subject believed to be stolen were found on her.

• Officers responded to a report of a verbal dispute between a husband and a wife on Martis Valley Road. The report was taken for documentation purposes only.

December 21

• Officers were dispatched to a residence on Washoe Road regarding a burglary. The rear door to the residence was forced open and entered. The suspect removed property from the residence and left the area.

• Victim reported his snowboard stolen out of the bed of his truck on Skislope Way.

• Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, which had been traveling the wrong way on an interstate on-ramp. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested and booked at Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in Truckee.

December 23

• A victim of a vandalism reported hearing his living room window shatter. After shattering the, window the suspect fled the area. The incident occurred on Snowberry Road.

• Hospital staff located marijuana in hospice patient’s property. Hospital staff turned marijuana over to Truckee Police Department.

• Toddler ate an unknown amount of anti-acid medication on Zermatt Drive. Truckee Fire was called. The toddler appeared to be in good condition.

December 24

• A vehicle was stopped by a Nevada County deputy for vehicle code violation. The driver was arrested for DUI.

• A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI.

• A subject was causing a disturbance on Deerfield Drive. The subject was located and resisted arrest but was taken into custody.

December 25

• A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI.

• Officers documented a verbal argument between husband and wife on Donner Pass Road.

• A suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle then fled the scene without providing proper information.

• Officers took a report of domestic dispute on Northwoods Boulevard.

December 27

• Driver was stopped for vehicle code violation and was arrested for DUI.

• Truckee Police Department assisted California Highway Patrol on a traffic related incident on westbound Interstate 80 just west of Donner Lake Road. During the ensuing investigation, three occupants of the vehicle were arrested on confirmed warrants. Officers arrested one of the subjects who was taken into custody and later booked into Nevada County Jail without further incident.

• Truckee Police Department received a phone call for traffic complaint on Swiss Lane in Tahoe Donner.

• A vehicle was parked too close to the railroad and was towed.

• Victim reported his rear license plate and other components were stolen off his vehicle parked on Donner Pass Road.

December 28

• Emergency Room Staff reported a victim of an assault had been admitted to the hospital. The victim gave limited information and stated she was injured.

• Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration. An investigation resulted in the vehicle being towed for the driver driving on a suspended license; she was cited and released. The passenger in the vehicle was arrested and booked for a local warrant.

December 29

• A subject was arrested and booked at Nevada County Sheriff’s Office for a misdemeanor out of county warrant.

• Officers responded to a single vehicle accident into a tree and found the driver trapped in the vehicle. Witnesses on the scene saw a male adult passenger exit the vehicle and leave the scene after striking the driver with his hands. The passenger and the driver were in dating relationship. The passenger was later located with injuries on his face, head and neck and was arrested for domestic violence. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. During the booking process Nevada County Correctional Officers, found the driver to be in possession of a controlled substance.

December 30

• Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch. An investigation resulted in the driver being arrested and booked for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

• Officers took a report of two-vehicle, non-injury collision.

• Reporting party reported her purse stolen at a location on Donner Pass Road. The purse was found and was left by the reporting party at the deli counter.

• A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation. Marijuana was located inside vehicle. The driver was cited and released.

• Reporting party found a spoon possibly used for narcotics. The spoon was booked into evidence.
