Truckee police logs include abandoned car stuck on railroad tracks destroyed by oncoming train

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The following are Truckee Police reports from the week of April 22 to April 28.

April 22

At 3 p.m. on West River Street a person was arrested for public intoxication after allegedly being asked to leave a property several times, and refusing to leave.



At 11:50 p.m. on China Camp Road police stopped a vehicle for traveling at low speed, expired registration and a broken brake light. Police found the driver to allegedly be under the influence of alcohol.

April 23



At 12:35 p.m. on Donner Pass Road police contacted a person with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

At 5:20 p.m. on Donner Pass Road police responded to a two-vehicle collision with complaint of pain.

At 6 p.m. on Donner Pass Road an unknown person allegedly threw a rock through the front door of a local bank, but did not enter.

April 24

At 1 a.m. on Interstate 80 police stopped a vehicle for code violations and arrested the driver for allegedly driving under the influence.

At 2:20 a.m. on East River Street a subject allegedly entered a locked vehicle and took the speaker box. The person was confronted by the owner of the vehicle, and the subject allegedly tried to run over that person and an ex-girlfriend while fleeing the scene.

At 8:40 a.m. on Deerfield Drive a person fell down a hillside and was arrested for drunk in public.

At 1:10 p.m. on Powderhorn Lane a person reported her estranged husband allegedly did not allow a court ordered visitation with their daughter.

At 11 p.m. on Interstate 80 police stopped a vehicle for code violations and the driver allegedly admitted to being in possession of marijuana. The driver allegedly said the recommendation was at home. Police cited the driver for possession, a stop sign violation and exceeding the maximum speed of 65 mph on the freeway.

April 25

At 12:05 a.m. on Interstate 80 police stopped a vehicle for erratic driving and found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs.

At 12:50 a.m. on Interstate 80 police stopped a vehicle for expired registration and displaying false registration tabs.

At 7:50 a.m. on Bernese lane police arrested a person involved in a single-vehicle collision for driving under the influence.

At 2:45 p.m. on Donner Pass Road a business owner detained juveniles for allegedly shoplifting. Both juveniles were cited and released to parents.

April 26

At 9:30 a.m. on Donner Pass Road an allegedly abandoned vehicle was towed.

At 10:20 a.m. on Donner Pass Road an allegedly abandoned vehicle was towed.

April 27

At 1:05 p.m. on Donner Pass Road a shop employee suspected shoplifting when a patron exited the store with a bulge under his jacket. No theft was seen or missing items located within the store.

April 28

At 12:30 a.m. on The Strand police stopped a vehicle for erratic driving and arrested the driver for allegedly driving under the influence.

At 4:20 p.m. on East River Street a person reported receiving text messages from her ex-boyfriend’s sister, and wanted it to stop.

At 5 p.m. on Hirschdale Road a vehicle slid off the road way and got lodged on the railroad tracks. A train came and struck the vehicle, destroying it. The occupants were able to exit the vehicle prior to the collision and were uninjured.
