Truckee Police logs, June 17-July 8
TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for June 17 to July 8, along with previously unreported incidents.
Officers reported a single vehicle accident causing property damage.
Officers reported a minor injury two vehicle collision.
Unknown subject(s) entered victim’s unlocked studio apartment on Donner Pass and stole prescription medication without the knowledge or consent of the victim.
Victim claimed her ex violated a restraining order regarding child custody. The case was documented and forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.
Officers took a report of minor injury single vehicle collision involving town property.
Officers received a report of unsupervised children on Waters Way. Investigation revealed the oldest brother was of reasonable age to watch the younger brother. Both children had an action plan in case of an emergency. Report was taken for documentation only.
Officers pulled over a vehicle for vehicle code violations and suspected DUI. The driver was arrested.
A complaint was received of a car alarm continually sounding for more than an hour. Officers were able to locate the owner in Tahoe Donner. When the owner arrived to turn off the alarm, it was discovered he had a misdemeanor warrant for a probation violation. The man was arrested and booked without incident.
A subject entered a local business on Donner Pass Road and attempted to purchase alcohol with another person’s driver’s license. The subject fled the area.
California Highway patrol assisted with felony hit and run. The suspect was arrested.
Officers reported two vehicle non injury collision on private property on Donner Pass Road.
Victim reported her cellphone being stolen while at a community pool on Northwoods Boulevard.
A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation. A search revealed a controlled substance. The driver was arrested.
Officers located a driver involved in hit and run collision. The driver admitted to drinking and was arrested.
Officers received a suspected child abuse report. Physical abuse was unfound.
A group of subjects vandalized a vehicle and assaulted a victim for furtherance of their gang. The subjects were arrested for various crimes.
Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a male and female on Levon Avenue. The female was arrested for domestic violence.
Reported theft of goods from a local drug store resulted in citation.
Victim reported her purse being stolen from a dock on Donner Lake. The victim requested an information report for documentation only.
Officers were dispatched to an address in the Glenshire subdivision regarding a possible domestic dispute. Officers determined an assault had occurred and the female half of the dispute was subsequently arrested.
Officers reported a non-injury two vehicle traffic collision.
A subject who was under the influence of a controlled substance was contacted and subsequently arrested and booked in jail.
A search warrant was served at a residence on Somerset Drive for a suspected narcotic related offense. One suspect was arrested for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and narcotic possession.
Reporting party called the police to report an injured deer on her property on Stockholm Way. Upon police officer and Animal Control officers’ arrival, it was determined that the best course of action was to dispatch the animal.
Victim reported unknown suspect used his social security number and claimed him as dependent to the IRS. The victim is now unable to file his taxes for 2012.
While completing a patrol sweep of the downtown Truckee, a Truckee police officer came upon a vehicle parked in a business parking lot. The car’s engine was running and the headlights were on. An unconscious female was found behind the wheel. Officers were finally able to wake the female; she was determined to be heavily intoxicated. The female was arrested and booked in the Nevada County Jail for public intoxication.
Reporting party called to report her vehicle was taken by an acquaintance her and her roommate met the night prior. The vehicle was entered into the system and was broadcasted to all local law enforcement agencies.
A subject turned in rounds of ammunition for destruction.
A juvenile was arrested for using his parents’ debit card and buying estimated $8,000+ merchandise online without the authorization of his parents. The juvenile was cited and released to his mother.
Loss prevention agent telephoned the police to report baby formula items were stolen from the store.
Vehicle was parked on roadway and unknown vehicle hit it causing damage. Report was taken.
Person turned in a wallet.
Victim came home on Donner Pass Road to find his dog stolen from his locked residence.
Suspect punched victim in the face one time due to victim making a derogatory comment toward him. The victim wanted to make a citizen arrested for the battery. The suspect was cited and released for the assault.
While patrolling Regional Park, officer found two dogs inside a minivan with the windows rolled up. Animal Control was called to assess the situation. Animal Control took the temperature inside of the minivan which was 95 degrees. Animal Control determined that the two dogs needed to removed for their safety.
Subject called stating he was pushed by his wife while in argument. The wife was arrested. The incident occurred on Jeffry Pine Road.
Officers stopped a bicyclist for vehicle code violations on Donner Pass Road, the driver was arrested for DUI on a bicycle.
A juvenile failed to yield during a traffic stop after committing a minor traffic violation. The juvenile was cited and released to her parents for multiple vehicle code violations.
A female reported she had been assaulted by her husband. The husband turned himself in at the Truckee Police Department and was arrested.
Reporting parties contacted law enforcement after a bear entered their residence on Peregrine Drive. The case was forwarded to California Department of Fish and Wildlife for review.
Officers reported non-injury hit and run collision involving two vehicles.
Courtesy photographs were taken of a victim of an assault in Monterey County. The Report was sent to Monterey County Sheriff’s Office for review.
Reporting party wanted to report his male roommate made sexual advances on him. The incident occurred on Donner Pass Road.
A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation. The driver was arrested for DUI.
A vehicle was parked downtown blocking the set up crews for the Fourth of July Parade. The vehicle’s registration was also 9 months expired. As a result, the vehicle was towed.
A vehicle crashed into the side of a building on West River Road. There was moderate damage to the vehicle and minor damage to the building.
During the Fourth of July celebration at Donner Lake, California Highway Patrol was flagged down for a report of a physical battery between two adult males. Truckee Police officers arrived on scene and discovered both parties were at fault, but neither requested prosecution.
A juvenile was found to be intoxicated in public in violation of his probation. The juvenile was cited and released to parent.
Subjects got into a physical fight over a parking spot. The subjects were detained at the scene until investigation. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
A victim reported her bicycle was stolen while it was left unsecured along the roadway on Donner Pass Road.
Several citizens called in to report fireworks or gun shots in the area of Star Pine Road and Red Fir Road.
A man on a bicycle found some keys on the road and turned them in as found property.
Citizen turned in a cellphone she found on a trail.
Vehicle backed into an occupied parked vehicle in a parking lot on Donner Pass Road and left the scene without giving information.
Officers responded to a report of a bear inside of an occupied residence on Skislope Way. The bear was gone upon their arrival. The bear was located outside another residence and chased away with a less-than-lethal shotgun round. The bear then attempted to get inside two more houses before it was finally scared away.
Officers documented a physical fight between siblings.
A driver of a vehicle was stopped for a vehicle code violation. The driver was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
Truckee Police officers arrived on scene of a suspected homicide in Placer County. Officers secured the scene. The report will be forwarded to Placer County Sheriff’s Office. According to PCSO, the incident was quickly determined to be accidental in nature.
An injured deer was dispatched.
An unknown suspect threw a rock at vehicle’s windshield while it was in the driveway on Wolfgang Road. There are no suspect leads at this time.
Officers reported a verbal argument between family members on Whitetail Ct.
