Truckee Police Reports: July 7 – 15, 2008
Records were taken from the Truckee Police Department from July 7 to July 15
At 1 p.m. on West River Street, police received reports that an unknown suspect had cut the padlock on a storage unit and removed several items.
At 12 a.m. on Brockway Road, police received reports that a subject was involved in a fight in the Regional Park.The suspect was subsequently seen arguing with another subject, and upon contact, the suspect ran from the officers. He was later caught and arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest and violation of probation.
At 7:20 p.m. on East River Street, police contacted and cited a subject for riding in a boxcar on a train.
At 10 p.m. on Palisades Drive, officers stopped a vehicle for a code violation and upon contact, detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search revealed the driver and passenger were in possession of marijuana, and both were cited and released.
At 10 p.m. at the Truckee Regional Park, officers found spray painted tags in various locations.
At 10:50 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers stopped a driver after he failed to yield to a father and two children in a crosswalk. He was subsequently cited for being unlicensed.
At 12 a.m. on Olympic Boulevard, a subject reported that his ex-friend had pulled a gun on him while he was attempting to speak with him about a report he had filed. The incident was forwarded to the district attorney’s office.
At 10:30 a.m. on Brookstone Drive, officers served a search warrant resulting in the seizure of 47 marijuana plants. Two suspects were arrested for cultivating marijuana.
At 2:40 p.m. on South Shore Drive, police received reports that an unknown suspect had stolen a victim’s bag while she was swimming in Donner Lake.
At 10:25 a.m. in downtown Truckee, the Union Pacific Railroad contacted police to advise them of a subject riding on top of a train car. The subject was located and arrested for trespassing.
At 11:15 a.m. on Donner Pass Road, police received reports that an unknown suspect stole a purse from an unlocked vehicle.
At 4:30 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, police contacted and arrested a subject for an outstanding felony warrant.
At 8:10 p.m. on Brockway Road, officers stopped a vehicle for rolling through a stop sign and talking on the cell phone. The driver was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.
