Truckee poll to open Monday

Truckee voters will have a chance to vote for local offices and state and national political seats as early as Monday.

The Truckee Town Clerk’s office at Truckee Town Hall will be open for early voting during regular business hours (Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-5 p.m.) beginning Oct. 6.

Truckee’s early voters will be able to vote only on the Hart Electronic Voting Equipment ” paper ballots will not be available for early voting at the Truckee poll.

If you have any questions regarding early voting at the Truckee Town Clerk’s Office, please contact Judy Price, Truckee town clerk, at (530) 582-2924.

A secure ballot box will also be available in the Truckee Town Clerk’s office beginning Monday, Oct. 27 through Monday, Nov. 3 for all Truckee area voters who do not wish to return their vote by mail ballot to the elections office through the mail.

This ballot box will only be available during normal business hours, and will not be available on election day.

The deadline to register for the Nov. 4 election is Oct. 20. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot from the Nevada County Elections Office is Oct. 28.

All ballots must be received in the Nevada County Elections Office or a Nevada County polling place by 8 p.m. on Nov. 4, otherwise they cannot be counted.
