Truckee rec/park officials delay response to grand jury report

The Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District board of directors delayed responding to recent grand jury findings that detail an employee harassment incident and safety issues at select facilities.

At their regular board meeting Thursday night, some directors said they need additional time to review a draft response prepared by district general manager Steve Randall before approving it for submission to the Nevada County Grand Jury.

Randall’s draft response either disagrees or partially agrees with the findings of 2012-13 grand jury, and cites that many of its recommendations are currently in place.

Additionally, director Kevin Murphy was absent from the meeting, and the board agreed he should be present for approval.

The TDRPD board has until Sept. 28 to respond to the grand jury’s report.
