Truckee resident under investigation for alleged molestation

TRUCKEE ” A Truckee resident is being held for alleged child molestation.

On Dec. 15 Truckee Police investigated alleged lewd acts between 27-year-old Juan Jose Garcia-Nieves and a juvenile female, according to a press release.

The alleged molestation occurred during a seven-year period, according to the release, and the Nevada County District Attorney filed a felony complaint against Garcia-Nieves on Dec. 17 charging him with nine child molestation offenses including continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14.

Garcia-Nieves is being held at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility with bail set at $150,000 plus an immigration hold, according to the release.
