Truckee sales tax increase in effect
TRUCKEE, Calif. – On November 5, 2024, Truckee voters approved Measure E, a general tax that will provide funding for essential services such as wildfire preparedness, transit services, environmental protection, and workforce housing.
As part of this measure, the local sales tax rate will increase by 0.5%, bringing Truckee’s total sales tax rate to 9%, effective April 1, 2025. The Truckee Chamber reminds business owners to update their point-of-sale (POS) systems to ensure compliance with this change.
