My favorite place to take a break or to celebrate, during the holidays or any other time, is…Moody’s! I love that I can get champagne in a nice glass, fabulously delicious beef tartare and charcuterie. I love relaxing and listening to Billy Holiday in the middle booth and the lilies in the bathroom. It’s so civilized and elegant. And Mark being easy on the eyes is icing on the cake!
After a fun day of exploring stores in Truckee and finding perfect Christmas gifts for everyone on my list, I like to head up to the Blue Coyote.
I love this place. It’s always packed with a crowd enjoying drinks and hunkering over great at plates of food. I think I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu and have never had a bad experience with any thing I have ever ordered at the Coyote. But after shopping I am an appetizer afficianado. The wings are spicy and served up with lots of celery, the nachos are mountain-sized even if you order the Mole Hill, and the big crispy fries are contenders to the best on the hill ” pass the ketchup!
The booths are huge and a great place to dump my packages and re-examine all the cool gifts I’ve bought at the Truckee stores. I can put my feet up and can depend on a smiling waitresses to stop by often to make sure I have enough of everything and my drink is fresh.
I have been going to the Coyote ever since I came to Truckee and if there were any way to improve the Blue Coyote it would be to move the downtown stores just a little bit closer.
