Truckee Ski Swap; 15th annual event scheduled Saturday

Sierra Sun

The Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District’s 15th annual Truckee Ski Swap and Auction is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Truckee Community Center on Church Street.

The swap runs 11 a.m until 4 p.m. A wide variety of new and used ski equipment, clothing and accessories for the entire family will be available at fantastic bargain prices.

The Truckee Ski Swap is a great place to sell old ski equipment as well. The public can check in used equipment Saturday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. The district will retain a 15 percent commission on merchandise sold.

In addition to the swap, a silent auction lasts until 3 p.m. the day of the swap. Auction items include a full-season season pass to Alpine Meadows (value $800), a Northstar Value Pass ($500) and season passes to Boreal, Tahoe Donner and Tahoe Donner Cross Country. Items include a junior ski package (skis, bindings and poles) from Porter’s and lift tickets to Squaw Valley, Tahoe Donner, Sugar Bowl, Donner Ski Ranch and other areas. People interested in bidding on items should stop by the Community Center.

Proceeds from the ski swap and the auction help support Truckee’s youth ski programs, including the Learn-to-Ski, Buddy Werner, youth cross country skiing and the Truckee Race team.

For information on the ski swap, call the recreation office at 582-7720.
