Truckee Tahoe Airport adopts new officers, Speak Your Peace

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Tahoe Airport District Board is the latest local public agency to adopt Speak Your Peace.

The board on Thursday, Dec. 17, unanimously adopted the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundationand#8217;s guidelines for civil discourse, joining other agencies and individuals, adding up to the more-than 1,000 pledges.

and#8220;It just reflects common sense,and#8221; said Sandy Korth, who was also chosen Thursday as the boardand#8217;s new president. and#8220;It sounds easy, but it can be difficult to carry out in the middle of a controversial issue, so this is a good reminder during those times.and#8221;

As president Korth said she is excited to assume issues facing the airport, including finding a new general manager following Dave Gotschalland#8217;s departure earlier this year, the implementation of flight tracking and a new terminal building.

and#8220;Iand#8217;m excited to be carrying on from where Bill Quesnel left off,and#8221; Korth said. and#8220;We will continue to strive to offer quality aviation services while minimizing adverse affects on the community.and#8221;

Thomas Van Berkem was appointed vice president at Thursdayand#8217;s meeting.
