Longtime local favorite, Nancy Swayzee will join the Bookshelf at Hooligan Rocks, Gateway Center, Truckee, for a booksigning and talk with the new book Audacious Aging a collection of more than 30 writers, including Deepak Chopra and Patch Adams, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.Swayzee was called out of the blue by the publisher to contribute after they reviewed her first book Breathworks for Your BackStrengthening Your Back From the Inside Out.Its keeping that sense of wonder, the expectation of magic in life, said Swayzee on aging audaciously. The Agate Bay Animal Hospital will be providing pay what you canDHLPPC and Rabies vaccinations for local dogs whose owners could nototherwise afford preventative veterinary vaccines Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This outreach program is for apparently healthy dogs. The Tahoe Forest Hospital Auxiliary is looking for volunteers to assist in running the Gift Tree, doing secretarial work in Human Resources and other business areas as well as working at the Main Information Desk in the late afternoons and early evenings. The Child Care Center is looking for adult volunteers to cuddle in the infant room, assist teachers with projects and to assist students with homework after school.
