Truckee Tahoe weather: foot of snow expected in latest storm

LAKE TAHOE ” The Lake Tahoe Basin is under a winter weather advisory until 4 a.m. Thursday, potentially bringing a foot of snow above 7,000 feet.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno,.snow will be light during the day Wednesday; however, moderate to heavy snow will develop Into Wednesday evening as a low pressure system moves into Northern California and Nevada.

Snow accumulations of up to 3 to 6 inches of snow at lake level, with up to a foot expected above 7,000 feet, is expected.

Winds of 15 to 25 mph also are expected, which could present dangerous driving conditions.
