Truckee to meet with county, cities to discuss economy

Officials from the governments of Grass Valley, Nevada City, Truckee and Nevada County will meet Friday and Saturday at the Holiday Inn in Grass Valley to discuss how the economy of the county can be revitalized and higher-paid jobs attracted to the area.

The meeting starts at 1 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, at 121 Bank St., Grass Valley.

Topics of discussion on Friday include why businesses invest in Nevada County and a presentation by Gil Mathew, president and CEO of the Economic Resource Council. Business organizations and the Nevada County Chamber of Commerce will offer their ideas on Saturday.

The group had met earlier in February at the Miners Foundry to discuss the local economy.
