Truckee, Union Pacific railroad to be featured on History Channel

TRUCKEE “-Truckee and Union Pacific Railroad will be featured Tuesday night on the History Channel in a new eight-part series called “Extreme Trains.”
The show, Transcontinental, will cover the building of the transcontinental railroad in the 1860s. Host Matt Bown rides the busiest freight line anywhere ” Union Pacific’s Omaha to Sacramento ” on a route that crosses the world’s longest rail causeway, through the world’s largest rail yard and over the fearsome Donner Pass.
Scenes for Transcontinental were video taped in Council Bluffs, Iowa; Omaha, Neb.; Gibbon, Neb.; North Platte, Neb.; Ogden, Utah; near Morgan, Utah; Truckee, Calif.; Roseville, Calif. and Sacramento, Calif.
The show will air at 10 p.m.
