Truckee volleyball routs Lowry, Spring Creek

The Truckee High volleyball team improved to 19-3 overall and 3-0 in Northern 3A league play with home wins against Lowry and Spring Creek this past weekend.

Truckee defeated Spring Creek ” the team that eliminated the Wolverines from last year’s postseason tournament ” in three straight games, 25-20, 25-9, 25-12 on Friday.

Senior setter Megan Murphy had 23 assists. Junior outside hitter Callan Finney posted 14 kills, 1 service ace and 1 block, senior middle blocker Melanie Lashbrook had 6 kills and 1 block, and junior libero Mary Ann Nason had 5 aces.

The Wolverines also routed Lowry ” which finished 15-1 in league last year ” in three straight games, 25-14, 25-18, 25-17.

Finney had 7 kills and 3 aces, senior middle blocker Alexa Terrell had 6 kills, 2 aces and 7 blocks, Lashbrook had 6 kills and 2 blocks, and Murphy had 23 assists and 2 aces.

Truckee plays a non-league match at North Tahoe on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
