Truckee volleyball wins in first round; North Tahoe knocked off in semifinal

The Truckee High volleyball team (No. 1 seed north) defeated Moapa Valley (No. 2 seed south) in five games in the semifinal match of the NIAA 3A State Volleyball Championship in Las Vegas Friday night.

According to Nevadaprep.com, Truckee won 23-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-14, 16-14.

The Wolverines will play Yerington in the state championship match Saturday.



The North Tahoe volleyball team (No. 2 seed north) lost in five games to Needles (No. 1 seed south) in the semifinal of the NIAA 2A State Volleyball Championship in Las Vegas on Friday.

Whittell (No. 1 seed north) advanced with a win in three games over Lincoln County (No. 2 seed south) to set up a title match with Needles on Saturday.
