Truckee XC runs at Stanford

The Truckee High cross country squad competed this past weekend in the Stanford Invitational, where the boys placed 11th out of 23 Division 4 teams and the girls finished 19th.

Bishop Manogue ” whose boys team placed fourth and its girls team sixth ” was the only other Nevada program in the Division 4 competition.

In the 5-kilometer race, Truckee junior Micah Silver placed 11th in a field of 159 runners with a time of 16:53. Matt Duffy of St. Mary’s-Berkeley ” the overall winning Division 4 boys team with 104 points compared to Truckee’s 334 ” placed first in 15:40.

Truckee senior Max Salinger was the next Wolverine to cross the line, finishing 50th in 17:56. He was followed by teammates Hansen LeClair, who was 69th in 18:31, Tyler Brooks (89th in 19:05), Stefan Benier (115th in 19:52) and Kevin Lufkin (138th in 20:57).

On the girls’ side, Truckee sophomore Hanna Casares placed 71st, respectively, with a time of 22:18. Roseanne Fleming of first-place Oaks Christian won in 18:49.

Casares was followed by Chelsea Cordell (96th in 23:19), Robyn Bath (102nd in 23:45), Kelsey Dion (107th in 23:56), Brooke Griffin (108th in 23:56) and Gina Krauss (139th in 26:52).
