TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — 101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio listener David Libby calls his heli-ski week in Cordova Alaska “The adventure of a lifetime.” Libby won the all-expense paid week for himself and a friend in the station’s Points North Heli-Adventures drawing March 29.

“First of all, the lodge was just first-class, an unbelievable experience,” said Libby. “The helicopter itself was the part I wasn’t sure about, and it blew my mind away. They’d hover in front of a peak and pick out some stupid-sick line, and then they’d land you on top and fly away.

“As soon as you hit the bottom, they call in the chopper, and off you go again. Dude, it’s about skiing up there!” Libby said of the experience. “We saw the ocean, the glaciers, it was very impressive.”

Libby’s name was chosen from 200 listeners who clamored all winter to qualify for the drawing. 101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio is already working with Points North Heli-Adventures on next year’s contest.

Points North Heli-Adventures is a helicopter skiing destination operating out of Cordova, Alaska, in the Eastern Chugach Range. For information, visit
