Mark your calendar for Feb. 7, the 8th Annual Spaghetti Dinner, Bingo and Silent Auction at the Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District, 10046 Church St. Event proceeds will go toward funding the Meals-On-Wheels program, Senior Community Dining Room Meals and other enrichment activities.Requests for services are up 32 percent in Nevada and Placer Counties. Sierra Senior Services is estimating they will serve 24,000 meals to a frail, vulnerable population within the community. Event sponsors include the Truckee Lions Club, Truckee Lioness Club, Truckee Sunrise Rotary, Truckee Noon Rotary, Truckee Optimist and Soroptimist International of Truckee Donner. Doors open at 5 p.m. along with the bar and silent auction tables, dinner is from 6 to 7 p.m. with bingo at 7 p.m. The silent auction table will remain open until 8:30 p.m. Cost is $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District and Sierra Senior Services office. Sierra Senior Services, located in Truckee, Calif., is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of seniors in the Truckee and Tahoe area. Lunch $3 to $7.Dr. Halat’s Foot Care Clinic will return to the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. This is a billable service to Medicare clients.Monthly Roundtable: On the first Tuesday of every month. Discussion on the latest trips, programs, and special events during lunch at the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments dining commons, $3 to $7 donation.
