Truckees Dancing Mom wins contest

Truckees Patty Brooke is morning televisions reigning dance queen, crowned the winner Wednesday of ABC Good Morning Americas Dancing With the Moms challenge. Shedding happy tears with a wide smile on her face on live television, the 54-year-old mother of three proved she can salsa with the best, dancing her way to the top of ABCs morning version of Dancing With the Stars, where viewers cast votes for their favorite competitors.I love everyone. Im very appreciate of the love and support, said Brooke, speaking via cell phone from New York Wednesday morning. Ive enjoyed every moment Ive been here. Brooke described her experience as surreal and emotional, adding, Im on cloud nine. The same can be said for her friends.Im all hoarse because Ive been screaming, said Patty Florian, one of Brookes Truckee friends. I am just so excited for her.On Wednesdays show, the panel of judges were enthusiastic in praising Brooke, referring to her joyful manner and quick mastery of the Latin dance steps.You have the glow of a champion, said Joey McIntyre, a past member of the boy-band New Kids On The Block and a contestant on the first season of Dancing With the Stars.Several of Brookes friends and relatives gathered to watch the Dancing Moms finale early Wednesday at Kathy Bratts Truckee home.Bratt said she received a phone call with the results at 6 a.m. and then everybody started calling. I think we will have a party for her, Bratt said. Were partying right now. Brooke flies home Wednesday night and were lining up a limo to pick her up, Bratt said. Shes put Truckee on the map, said Patty Florian. All I did was talk about Truckee, Brooke said in the call from New York. Everyone at Good Morning America knows where Truckee is now.Out of thousands of applicants who entered the contest, Brookes enthusiasm and positive energy shined through, added Ron Florian, who is planning a big celebration when Brooke returns.Its wonderful to see Brooke in the spotlight, shining like she always does, said Bax Werner, Brookes co-worker at Fitch & Cook Communities. Brooke works full time as a sales manager for the real estate company. The single mother is scheduled to appear on KOLO Channel 8 in Reno today, Patty Florian said.Brookes dance fever is infectious.Whatever shes taking, I want to also, Patty Florian said.
